Friends make sure friends only use *Offline* AI tools. Or better yet donât touch this shit at all.
Have you been very naughty and sometimes give in to using ChatGPT and similar AI chat tools? *wags finger*
Well if youâre going to use AI, be safe with it and do yourself and everyone a favour and use Offline AI that just runs in your computer (and doesnât send data back to BigTech like using AI from a website does). Otherwise youâre feeding all your data directly into their dirty black box.
How? Well the easiest way is to use the new AI sidebar in Firefox. Just pick the model you want ChatGPT/Gemini etc and itâll download it to run in your computer and then you can use the chat inside Firefox and all your chats stay just on your computer under your control.
I mean weâre no fan of AI and acknowledge the very real problems with environmental impact, surveillance state and other social impacts. But if youâre going to do it. Be safe doing so.
To get started just press the sidebar button in the top left of Firefox browser (on desktops and laptops).
