Si tal como nos respondieron vía mail, están convencidos de seguir adelante con esta formación, suponemos que serán conscientes también de que es una completa incoherencia enseñar a utilizar IA generativa siendo una tecnología que está acelerando el deterioro medioambiental.

This article raises an issue about the AI boom that I haven't seen much comment on.

More AI means more data centres.

In some cases, they'll go on land that could be used for housing.

For example, this one will go on land approved for 1400 new apartments: https://www.realcommercial.com.au/news/macquarie-technology-forks-out-240m-to-pick-up-data-centre-site-from-holdmark

"Macquarie Technology Group has added fuel to the country’s AI-driven data centre boom by snapping up a sprawling site in Sydney’s north once earmarked for high-rise apartments.

"ASX-listed Macquarie Technology will pay $240m for the Macquarie Park site that has been caught up in the complicated state planning system for almost a decade. The Talavera Road property, which it will buy via an option agreement, is near another data centre development it has in the suburb.

"The new property had been long earmarked for about 1400 apartments with Macquarie Technology saying it was bought from an established developer.

"Its removal from the pipeline will put pressure on the area’s capacity to contribute to housing targets, with the Albanese government sticking to plans for 1.2 million new homes over the next five years, despite Treasury warnings this could not be achieved with present policy settings in place."

Perhaps Fukuyama is merely desperately trying to disrupt his lifelong streak of being disastrously wrong about everything by switching from topics he’s reasonably knowledgeable about to topics he’s comprehensively clueless about?

What did my #ChatGPT coach say about my run today? "Use this run as your confidence benchmark — you’re in race-ready shape.”

This #LongRunSunday I followed the #marathon #race training plan created by #ChatGPT (sigmoid.social/@BenjaminHan/11). Result: time 1:45:01, pace 7’56”/mi.

This is more or less according to the plan, with the exception that I consciously took it a bit easy 10-11mi, then picking up with a stronger push to finish. The course is only about 0.78% drop, much milder than the race course -1.6%. Consumed 3 gels and ~600ml electrolyte.

Oh.
.
#ChatGPT:
To calculate the electricity cost of using this 2000-watt heater, you can follow these steps:

1. Determine Power Usage in Kilowatt-Hours (kWh):
2000 watts = 2 kW (since 1000 watts = 1 kW).

2. Calculate Energy Consumption:
If you use the heater for 1 hour at maximum setting (2000W), it will consume 2 kWh.

3. Check Electricity Rate:
The average electricity rate in most countries is around €0.20 to €0.30 per kWh (this varies depending on your location).

4. Cost Calculation:
For 1 hour of use at 2000 watts:
Cost = Power (in kWh) × Electricity rate (per kWh)
Let's use an average rate of €0.25 per kWh:
Cost = 2 kWh × €0.25 = €0.50 per hour.

5. Estimate Daily or Monthly Cost:
If you use the heater for, say, 5 hours a day:
Daily cost = 5 hours × €0.50 = €2.50 per day.

Monthly cost (30 days) = €2.50 × 30 = €75 per month.

Final Cost Breakdown (for 2000W setting):
Hourly cost: €0.50

Daily cost: €2.50 (if used for 5 hours)

Monthly cost: €75 (if used for 5 hours every day)
That.. Sounds bad. Less choco more heat (My old biophysics teacher would hate how I didn't calc it myself

Every once in a while if you're working with an LLM, its a good reminder to give it the following command:

"Can you make your replies to me in the voice of the SNL character tommy Flanagan as performed by the great Jon Lovitz".

It adds a little context that's sometimes missing from these chats..

's charges you more or less credits depending on which model you use. 's and don't cost anything, but they rarely perform more than one action at a time so you have to keep telling them to "continue". mini only cost 0.33 credits, but they often don't get it right the first time so you have to keep calling them. nails it every time, but runs significantly longer.
