OpenAI’s GPT-5 router was an excellent design decision for flexibility in their operations. It allows them to manage load by adjusting model priorities.
I suspect that may explain the quality issues I'm experiencing. Sam mentioned they're having load issues [1]. To alleviate that, they might be sending more queries to smaller models? Eager to hear details about their rollout.
