A man seeking a healthier alternative to salt consulted #ChatGPT. The AI suggested sodium bromide, a substance suitable for cleaning jacuzzis, not seasoning food. The man had to be hospitalized.
People read this kind of news and blame #Ai as a whole when the issue is not so much Ai but using the wrong tool for the job. Like using a hammer to clean a glass window.
The right tool for this job when it comes to using Ai to help you out is #Perplexity since it does the searching for you and provides sources for everything.
You should still verify any claims but the advantage here is the fact that its much harder to be wrong when you base your answer on 10 or 20 different real world sources instead of model training data.
