Corona hit our societies hard. Particularly, our young kids who just started learning to write and read. The impact varies between countries, but it is very measurable and hard to overcome.
Now, the same generation is facing the LLM wave. Many use ChatGPT and similar tools to do their homework. It is so convenient. The "clever" ones hide the fact that a computer did the work a little bit and are praised for their high quality homeworks. The honest students get left out in the cold.
The impact of the AI wave will not be felt so quickly. Even if first didactic studies should ring the alarm bells.
To me, it is pretty clear, that at some point the limits of AI in the classroom will be acknowledged.
The questions are: When will we reach that point? And how are we going to get to this point faster, to avoid too much damage being done?
