"Over the last year, federal agents were struggling to uncover the identity of a darkweb child exploitation site, with little success. Then a possible avenue opened up, thanks to the suspect’s use of ChatGPT.
In the first known federal search warrant asking OpenAI for user data, reviewed by Forbes after it was unsealed in Maine last week, Homeland Security Investigations revealed it had been chatting with the administrator in an undercover capacity on the child exploitation site when the suspect noted they’d been using ChatGPT.
The suspect then disclosed some prompts and responses they had received, detailing an apparently innocuous discussion that began with, “What would happen if Sherlock Holmes met Q from Star Trek?” In another discussion, the suspect said they’d received a response from ChatGPT for an unspecified request about a 200,000-word poem, receiving in response “a sample excerpt of a humorous, Trump-style poem about his love for the Village People's Y.M.C.A., written in that over-the-top, self-aggrandizing, stream-of-consciousness style he's known for.” They then copied and pasted that poem. The government ordered OpenAI to provide various kinds of information on the person who entered the prompts, including details of other conversations they’d had with ChatGPT, names and addresses associated with the relevant accounts, as well as any payment data."

11/ Habe heute mit Student*innen über #KI gesprochen. Bis vor nem Jahr hatte ich ja so den Ansatz: Nur nicht drüber reden, sonst bringe ich noch jemanden auf Ideen. Jetzt habe ich gefragt, wer #ChatGPT kennt. Alle. Und wer es benutzt. Fast alle.
Eine Studentin kam hinterher zu mir und fragte, was sie denn machen solle. Sie habe Plagiatserkennungsportale benutzt und die hätten behauptet, die Arbeit sei mit KI erstellt worden. Sie habe dann große Angst gehabt, ob eine Dozent*in sie beschuldigen würde.
Ich meinte, dass das wahrscheinlich nicht passieren würde, weil man es ja sieht und nicht auf die Idee kommen würde, dass ihre Arbeit KI-generiert ist, wenn das nicht der Fall ist.
Sie hatte dann den Vorschlag, sich die ganze Zeit während der Erstellung der Arbeit zu filmen.
Das ist natürlich eine funktionierende Möglichkeit, aber irgendwie ist es auch schrecklich.
Es erinnert mich irgendwie an die DDR-Zeit, wo es nicht möglich war, zu beweisen, dass man nicht bei der Stasi war, denn jedes Verhalten, dass die Gegenüber dazu bringen könnte, zu glauben, dass man nicht bei der Stasi war, könnte ja Tarnung sein.
Heutzutage kann man sich selbst totalüberwachen und die Dokumentation dann den Prüfer*innen zur Verfügung stellen.

Aktueller Status: "Escalated to a support specialist". Beim versuch, die Rechnungen von #ChatGPT für die Steuererklärung herunterzuladen, 20min mit immer neuen Fehlinformationen von ChatGPT rumgetan, bis ich endlich ein Human Handover auslösen konnte. Ich würde nicht sagen, dass das eine Effizienzsteigerung darstellt. Aber gestern im Workshop hieß es, die Assistenz-Menschen würden teils von der Geschäftsführung gezwungen, #KI zu verwenden, um schneller und effizienter zu arbeiten.
