Sexually Repulsed By People on BlueSky
So, my shift from being very sexual on Bluesky to becoming completely repulsed by the sexual content on there has given some people whiplash. I used to post a lot of nudes and followed a ton of men who made gay porn, furries, etc. For me, a man instantly becomes repulsive if he has sex with someone I despise. I don’t feel jealousy, but I have a strong sense of disgust.
Because of how Bluesky’s native discovery algorithms work and how the feeds are constructed, there’s a high chance that the porn and NSFW content shown to me is also shown to people I find repulsive. That overlap grosses me out. Seeing the same porn or nudes as someone I loathe feels like a shared sexual experience, even if it’s passive. If a man I’m attracted to has any sexual interaction with someone I despise, my attraction instantly turns into repulsion.
Any reaction or interaction (likes, follows, comments, etc.) between me, someone I find repulsive, and someone I find sexy registers as a sexual act in my mind, and it makes me feel disgusted. It kills my libido because the disgust I feel toward the repulsive person transfers to the man I would have otherwise found attractive.
So what happened is that I discovered a group of people I feel nothing but disgust for have porn addictions, which consequently caused them to follow all the porn content I would be served. That instantly killed my libido. It made me drier than the Sahara Desert.
The idea that I am sharing a sexual space—even algorithmically—with people I despise makes the whole environment feel tainted, and my sexuality shuts down in response.
