Now that i'm not likely to go back to #Bluesky due to its centralized issue, i'm wondering about #Cara instead. Unlike Bluesky, who is managed by Jack Dorsey, Cara is managed by a smaller company than Dorsey's but is not decentralized either.
My grown impatience with centralized platforms taking over people's lives has me concerned deeply about their future.

The network layer of the ATprotocol of #Bluesky is the ATmosphere. It’s basically a startup farm using your data to build fast, social web apps. I’m fucking around with it because I like tech, but a lot of "weird" folks are going to get so fucked pretty soon.
