I shipped the syndication feature for my website today. Getting the threads api was a bit tricky. It was easy after I had done it and I knew where to go and what to get. But before I did all of that, it was tricky. It was the main reason why this had to be delayed till today. There were other things I should have done by now, but haven’t because I had not shipped this feature. Now I can go back to changing the UI. My favourite past-time.

I'm seeing more BlueSky reshares or quote-links in my feed that go to an account I can't read unless I'm logged in to BlueSky.
Not telling anyone what to do with their timeline (I'm still a firm believer in using Postel's Law as a philosophical grounding for using Mastodon), but as a meta-thought whispered into the ether: not unlike Washington Post or New York Times articles, if you share a microblog post that requires me to hand authentication credentials to someone to see it, I have already forgotten it existed.

Fishing in the warm colours of the afternoon sun
Solitude and practical use of this man-made lake north of Anlong Veng. What a contrast and perspective from the last decades of history in this area. But still a crossroad border town worth a visit.

Anlong Veng in Oddar Meanchey Province is a typical small town in Northern Cambodia, close to the natural ridge marking the border to Thailand’s Isaan region.
The countryside in the north of Cambodia is very pretty in itself. Add in a lake, some people and animal going on with their peaceful business in the setting sun. It turns incredible beauty.
