A bit saddening reading about #BlueSky going down a dark path regarding platforming of the right-wing US government and in particular, their hateful rhetoric.
I haven't at this stage instigated any sort of block yet. The server here still federates with `bsky.brid.gy`, and for now I'm managing them according to my "large instance" policy, much like how I'm dealing with `threads.net`.
It's worth noting that at present, there are about 14 users following accounts here from BlueSky. (Threads is even smaller; dashboard is reporting just one user.) So far, none of them troublemakers, and hopefully it stays that way.

lol my Bluesky account got suspended.
It was assessed as a “spammy, fake, or inauthentic account”
I was only using it to look at posts about Absolum and follow Ed Zitron.
I hadn’t posted anything serious because, well it’s Bluesky and I don’t particularly care about it.
Maybe it was inauthentic.

I have both a Bluesky and Mastodon accounts and I fully welcome the big influx of Bluesky people in recent weeks. But I really have to ask: what did you expect?
A eventually for-profit company makes a social media site and then starts eventually acting super right wing in moderation like they don't all love Ayn Rand bullshit.

I have a Bluesky account because there are a lot more people there and it's easier to find info about a few things I'm interested in (like protests and organizing). I was over there looking at protest photos and got into a discussion with someone about the concept of kings. They called me sweetie pie and I was instantly reminded why I like it better here. That person got blocked. #Bluesky
