The 2) is that #bluesky is giving a $$ grant to Phil aka @bad-example.com, who is well known in the #atproto community for running a group of "Microcosm" backend services (running on a bunch of Raspberry Pis at home!) that index the Atmosphere, which several other community apps are using. The TLDR is that each user's data for those non-public "spaces" as they are called will be stored on that user's PDS, like with public data. It will be viewable through app services like the Bluesky "AppView", which will be syncing the private data from each member user's own repos into its database, where it will put it together into threads etc., like what happens right now with public #bluesky threads. A "space owner" account will manage which users/apps have access to a given space. #atproto

Some big news from #Bluesky for #ATProto again 👀
Two things:
1) Daniel has recently been publishing a series of blog posts about how the shared-private / permissioned part of the protocol will look like, and today he published a first complete overview of how it will work. This will enable non-public posts on Bluesky and a lot of new types of apps (e.g. non-public photo sharing, private Facebook-like groups, services like Strava, etc.)
