There is some terminology used by @HolosSocial that may lead to confusion and needs clarification.
The term "full #ActivityPub server" seems to refer to a full server-to-server (S2S) implementation and then hosted client-side, which communicates with the Holos relay server through websockets in order to be able to federate. You might call it a "full server on the client" implementation.
But that is different than what the spec calls a "ActivityPub conformant Federated Server" which also implements the client-to-server (C2S) Social API. I don't see C2S mentioned, and perhaps @apps can improve the docs here to avoid confusions.

#Storyden has a 2025 closed issue on #ActivityPub with "not planned".

You might start a discussion to report on your Discord chat and perhaps they'll reconsider.. https://github.com/Southclaws/storyden/discussions

Reading about ActivityPub and how federation actually works under the hood. The protocol is elegant in its simplicity. #activitypub #fediverse
Just found out about storyden.org/ .
I joined their Discord to ask them to consider #ActivityPub support. They haven't, they don't know much about it, but I'm sure someone could help if they're interesetd.
Barney dropped a line to me though that 100% resonates with us on the #Fediverse and what they're going for.

ONE OF US! 😁
In #ActivityPub, once a post is federated, you lose control over how remote instances handle interactions on it. Some servers like #GoToSocial are working on interaction controls, but non-compatible instances simply ignore your rules.
With #HolosSocial, we're considering a "safe mode" available at publishing time. Your post would only be delivered to followers on instances that respect interaction controls. Not enabled by default, but there for those who need it.
but could a podcast use #ActivityPub instead of RSS to enable boosting of the episodes themselves and replies directly attached? imagine the possibilities of a podcatcher fully decentralized social graph enabled.
We talk about #HolosSocial forgetting some of you might not know this project.
#Holos is a full ActivityPub server running on your device. Currently on Android, next on iOS.
We already introduced #E2EE DMs and #ActivityPub identity through custom domains. You own your followers, your keys, and your identity. Relays are just infrastructure.
On the footer of https://holos.social we added pages explaining the project. Have a look!
Mastodon: @HolosSocial Don't hesitate to share
@sumo55 Hooo boy. That question opens up some big technical questions fast.
In short, you're posting videos on a website running software called Peertube. Peertube and other web apps can all talk to each other and share comments etc through something called ActivityPub. Collectively all these web apps working together are known as The Fediverse.
Mastodon is just another web app on the Fediverse that looks less like YouTube and more like Twitter. I'm writing this reply to you on Mastodon right now, and you're seeing it in Peertube via the magic of ActivityPub.
<TL;DR> I'll contact you via your contact for,m :P

Apple News and Google News should both be considered major competitors in the social media ecosystem. The format that most call microblogging might better be thought of as a social news feed. #ActivityPub being an evolution of RSS with boosts, favorites and replies. Articles and blogs but also audio and video.
if i have my own blog and wanna integrate #activitypub to it. can the blog itself be considered as "application" actor type or "person"??????????
(assuming it's a single person's blog)
That’s a shame
IF I make a WordPress post and it syndicates via ActivityPub, and someone comments via ActivityPub, that comment makes its way back to my post. This is good.
If someone uses ActivityPub to reply to the reply, that does not seem to make it back. That’s a shame.
I haven’t a clue how to make a change that could make the reply’s reply come back too, but I expect it is complicated. I’m sure someone smart will figure it out eventually.
