Finding things is a general problem on federated platforms, but #Peertube has solved this problem with its #Sepia search engine. I don't know how it works, but somehow there is a way to search many instances.

In my opinion, this is the biggest problem preventing PeerTube from becoming a true alternative to YouTube
@peertube btw, i have 2 issues
1. in your FAQs, in answer to: "Is Peertube's purpose to replace Youtube?" I fucking hope it is. i realize it is impossible on any near term. & yt can still exist, but i want it to be relegated to the dustbin of fascist appeasers
2. it is so hard to find things on #peertube, & even harder to find an instance to join
i understand that people have to host instances, & that costs $ (which is why i want liberal media to buy one) but it is challenging to find one

I tried birds and found an instance specifically for that. But as I mentioned, that turned out to be a porn scam🤬, but hopefully I'll have better luck with animals in general👍
If there has ever been a reason to create a #peertube instance, it would have to be to see animals💙💙💙
