I'm maintainer of https://distrochooser.de (@distrochooser), trying to help new users in linux to give an overview on *some* distributions by answering a questionnaire (not an oracle, made by humans, no #AI).
Anyone interested in contributing to the project? I'm always searching for support to add new distributions and improve the service! Especially when it comes to the decision tree by adding other users ideas and feedback.

If you do a poll to the exact same users who answered that on would be asked about their relation to #OpenSource, you would likely get a similar high result as #Linux got.
Everybody knows about Windows and Apple. Many have probably heard about Linux, but for very different things and not got a mainstream feeling for it. Thus, giving a feeling mora that "you're on your own if you want to try Linux."
It is that "on your own" framing I am trying to find solutions for!

#debian packages for snmptrapd to fix CVE-2025-68615 are now available for sid. Forky should be soon once it gets through the sid->forky transfer.
A back-patch for trixie is in-progress and should be available soon, it will be off for checking in a few hours.

I'd love to go the same route with my #LSC #MantraLite #dmx / #artNet console. It should be much easier, as it seems to be running Linux already, and it is using a standard #RaspberryPi.
Thing is… while pretty much every audio engineer has used a X32 console in his or her life and they are still being sold 13 years after their initial release… the Mantra Lite as of today apparently is about to be discontinued 10 years after its release. Even though it is superb board, and comes with a little brother, the Mantra Mini, which is the same thing without a user interface for running venues standalone. (It also can hand-over automatically to the Mantra Lite for pro-level operation)…
But anyways, my life is full enough already.
